The advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has opened new opportunities for non-language-major students to learn English independently. However, the factors driving their intention to use AI for this purpose remain underexplored, particularly among vocational Office Administration students. This study aims to identify significant predictors of behavioral intention to use AI for self-directed English language learning among Diploma III Office Administration students using the UTAUT3 framework. A quantitative-descriptive survey design was employed, with data collected via an online questionnaire from 34 students selected through purposive sampling based on their experience using AI for independent English learning. Multiple regression analysis revealed that the UTAUT3 model explained 80.3% of the variance in behavioral intention (R²=0.803; F(8,25)=12.773; p<0.001). Of the eight constructs examined, three emerged as statistically significant predictors: Habit (β=0.481; p=0.018) as the strongest predictor, followed by Hedonic Motivation (β=0.381; p=0.032) and Social Influence (β=0.304; p=0.017). These findings indicate that the intention to use AI for self-directed English language learning is more personal and affective in nature, driven by established habits and the enjoyment of interacting with AI, rather than by instrumental considerations such as ease of use or facility availability. Educators are recommended to design interventions that promote early AI usage habit formation and create AI-assisted learning experiences that are enjoyable, safe, and non-judgmental.
