Peer Review Process

Jurnal Administrasi dan Kesekretarisan applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of the authors and reviewers are not known to each other during the review process. This policy is implemented to maintain the objectivity, independence, and integrity of the manuscript evaluation process.

Each manuscript that has passed the initial screening will be reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers who have competence and expertise appropriate to the field of study of the manuscript.

Reviewers independently assess the main aspects of the manuscript, including its suitability with the focus and scope of the journal.

Peer Review Stages

1. Submission
Authors submit manuscripts through the online journal management system. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript complies with the requirements and writing guidelines established by the journal.

2. Initial Screening
The Editor conducts an initial examination of the manuscript to ensure its suitability with the focus and scope of the journal, writing format, completeness of the manuscript, and compliance with publication ethics requirements. At this stage, the Editor may conduct checks for indications of plagiarism or other ethical issues.

3. Peer Review
Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements are sent to a minimum of two reviewers who are appropriate to the field of expertise. Reviewers conduct an independent assessment and provide recommendations to the Editor regarding the eligibility of the manuscript for publication.

4. Revision
If revisions are required, authors are asked to improve the manuscript based on the comments and recommendations of the reviewers. Authors may be asked to revise the manuscript more than once if the Editor considers that further improvements are still necessary.

5. Editorial Decision
The Editor determines the final decision based on the review results and the quality of the revised manuscript. The decision may be:

Accept – the manuscript is accepted for publication;
Minor Revision – the manuscript requires minor improvements;
Major Revision – the manuscript requires substantial improvements and may be reviewed again by the reviewers;
Reject – the manuscript cannot be accepted for publication.

6. Copyediting and Production
Accepted manuscripts may undergo final editing, format checking, and production before being published online.

Confidentiality and Objectivity

The entire peer review process is conducted professionally, objectively, independently, and confidentially. The identities of the authors and reviewers are kept confidential during the review process. Reviewers are not permitted to use, disseminate, or take advantage of information obtained from the manuscript for personal purposes or for the benefit of other parties.

Reviewers are also expected to disclose potential conflicts of interest to the Editor and decline to conduct the review if there are circumstances that may affect the objectivity of their assessment.

The Editor has the authority to determine the final publication decision by considering the review results, the scientific quality of the manuscript, and the journal's editorial policies.
