Correction and Retraction Policy

Jurnal Administrasi dan Kesekretarisan is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of all published articles. When errors are identified or concerns arise regarding an article's reliability, the editor will review the available information and determine appropriate action based on the nature of the issue and its impact on the scholarly record.

1. Article Corrections

A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article and needs to be addressed to maintain the accuracy of the information. Corrections may concern typographical errors, author or affiliation details, tables, figures, data, or other content that does not require the entire article to be withdrawn.

The editor will assess the nature and impact of the error before determining the appropriate correction. A correction notice should explain the changes made and, where possible, be linked to the original article.

2. Article Retractions

A retraction may be considered when credible evidence indicates that an article contains unreliable data or findings, plagiarism, data or image manipulation, unjustified duplicate publication, or serious violations of research and publication ethics.

The editor will evaluate the available evidence before making a decision. Where necessary, the editor may request clarification from the authors, relevant institutions, or appropriate experts. A retraction decision must be based on an adequate evaluation and should not be made solely because of academic disagreement.

3. Expression of Concern

When a serious concern may affect the reliability of an article but the investigation has not reached a sufficiently conclusive outcome, the editor may publish an Expression of Concern. This notice informs readers that an issue affecting the article is under review.

Following the investigation, the notice may be followed by a correction, retraction, or other appropriate action.

4. Handling Procedure

Reports of errors or suspected misconduct may be submitted to the JAK editorial team through the journal's official contact channels. Reports should identify the article, describe the concern, and provide available supporting evidence.

The editor will assess the report objectively and may request additional information, contact the authors, or consult relevant institutions or independent experts. Relevant parties will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond.

Editorial decisions will take into account the available evidence, the seriousness of the error or misconduct, its impact on the reliability of the article, and the principles of scholarly publication ethics.

5. Transparency and the Publication Record

Corrections, retractions, and Expressions of Concern will be clearly explained and, where possible, linked to the relevant article. Retracted articles may remain in the journal archive with clear retraction markings to preserve transparency and the history of publication.

JAK aims to ensure that corrective actions are undertaken responsibly, consistently, and proportionately to maintain the trust of readers, authors, and the academic community.
