Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of the Multatuli Museum as  a community edutainment center  in Lebak Regency through the framework of the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) management function from George R. Terry. As the first anticolonial museum in Indonesia, the Multatuli Museum faces the challenge of balancing the function of historical preservation with the demands of modern recreational needs. The research method used was qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques through non-participation observation, interviews, and documentation studies with data analysis using interactive models from Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014). The results of the study show that the management of the Multatuli Museum as a  community edutainment  center in Lebak Regency has been running well through the implementation  of a consistent POAC  management function such as the planning aspect, there has been a clear determination of goals that are clearly proven by the vision and mission of the Multatuli Museum. The organizing aspect has prepared a clear organizational structure, but the allocation of resources is still lacking, especially the conservatorship section. The actuating aspect is good seen from leadership, authority and responsibility such as the educator is directed to be the guide for every tour activity carried out at the Multatuli museum. Finally, the aspect of controlling is good as seen from the report on the implementation of activities made every year, it can also be accessed by the public through the website, in addition to that there is a community satisfaction survey conducted by the multatuli museum.
