Abstract

Digital literacy skills particularly computational thinking, coding, and artificial intelligence (AI) are now essential competencies for everyone in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Society 5.0, and high school students are no exception. However, technology use among high school students remains predominantly focused on consumption rather than conceptual understanding and technology-based problem-solving. This community service activity aims to strengthen the digital literacy of students at State High School 2 in North Gorontalo through the gradual introduction of computational thinking, coding, and artificial intelligence. The implementation method used consists of interactive and participatory lectures with a phased approach comprising planning and execution. During the planning phase, the team coordinated with school officials, identified student needs, and developed training materials and modules. The implementation phase was divided into three main sessions: an introduction to computational thinking through unplugged activities; an introduction to coding using the Python programming language and the CodeCombat platform; and an introduction to artificial intelligence through examples of AI applications in daily life. The activity was held at State High School 2 in North Gorontalo on April 7, 2026, lasted 2 hours, and involved students as participants. The success of the training was measured through a series of pre-test and post-test. The results showed an increase the indicator of awareness regarding AI use, rising from 7% before to 32% after the activity.
