Abstract

Limited access to adequate computer devices remains one of the major challenges in developing digital skills among vocational school students, particularly in the field of basic graphic design. At the same time, the creative industry increasingly demands vocational graduates who possess visual competencies and the ability to utilize digital design tools. This community service activity aimed to enhance students’ logo design skills through the use of the Canva Mobile application on smartphones as an accessible alternative learning medium. The implementation method employed a participatory workshop approach consisting of pre-test, material delivery, hands-on logo design practice using smartphones, and post-test evaluation. The participants involved 30 students from SMK Swasta Amal Bakti. The evaluation results demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ technical abilities, as reflected in the increase in average scores from 48.67 in the pre-test to 84.17 in the post-test. These findings indicate that the use of smartphones through the Canva Mobile application can serve as an effective solution to overcome limited computer resources while enhancing students’ graphic design skills. Therefore, mobile device-based learning approaches have the potential to be implemented more broadly in supporting vocational education that is adaptive to digital technological developments.
