Database Management is part of the administrative operations of an organization. RSL (Rumah Singgah Lansia), a nursing home, is a social organization that provides a shelter for seniors who need attention from both a health and psychological perspective. Currently, data management in RSL is still conventional; an elderly person who comes with his family to be treated, checked or stopped by is recorded in a book. Although currently the number of elderly people who become the member is not that many, a better data management is needed in the future. For this reason, computerised database management is very important to be applied in RSL. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training in creating and managing data bases so that the data can be managed in a better way. Some of the obstacles
faced in this PKM are the limited ICT infrastructure and the lack of competence of human resources in the field of ICT, especially in operating database applications and computer devices. This nursing home only has a laptop which is used for various administrative and financial purposes. Two employees who take care of various administrative matters ranging from registration, health to financial matters, are assisted in turn by the RSL administrators who are also volunteers. Every day there are administrators and volunteers who come to help with various jobs at the shelter for the elderly: handling administrative matters, cleaning the house, and serving the elderly and their families. The training on community service activity that has been carried out has proven successful in increasing the competence of employees and administrators of this RSL so that they are able to change their conventional way of managing data to managing data using Database application software.
