Effective Public Speaking Penggerak PKK Kelurahan Pondok Kelapa Jakarta Timur

Abstract

The ability to convey information, motivate and even persuade others is a plus for a speaker. Standing at the forefront as a speaker requires the ability to speak effectively and efficiently so that the message conveyed can be well received and implemented. For this reason, the ability to speak in public (public speaking) needs to be sharpened and developed. This was the reason when Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Komunikasi & Sekretari Tarakanita (STARKI) Jakarta conducted an Effective Public Speaking Training for female community activists, mostly homemakers, in Pondok Kelapa Village. This training does not focus on the delivery of material but rather the practice of speaking in public effectively, in accordance with the area of mobilization of participants. The enthusiasm and willingness to learn from these mothers is very high and should be appreciated.
