Anambas Islands Regency (KKA) has abundant natural resources, especially in the marine and fisheries sectors. Apart from that, KKA has a rich cultural heritage, especially in terms of maritime customs and culture. Through the National Tourism Development Master Plan (RIPPARNAS) for 2000-2025, KKA is included in the National Tourism Destination (DPN) development plan which is directed at maritime tourism development. The KKA government realizes the importance of strengthening maritime traditional communities, especially for the Tourism Awareness Group as the spearhead of tourism empowerment as part of efforts to increase socio-cultural and economic empowerment in this area. By strengthening maritime traditional communities, the KKA Government hopes to improve the welfarei of local communities and maintain the sustainability of existing natural resources. The aim of holding this community service activity is to strengthen the capacity of tourism awareness groups, with the implementation method in the form of community-based tourism training which is held in three days and consists of material and practice as well as discussion of case studies. The results of this activity include participants having basic knowledge about tourism concepts and principles in the context of community-based tourism training; can implement community-based tourism concepts and principles that focus on community participation; and have the understanding and ability to apply a tourism code of ethics in an effort to run community-based tourism. The community service activities carried out at KKA for 11 participants who are part of the tourism awareness group are considered to have succeeded in achieving their goal, namely strengthening the capacity of the tourism awareness group through community-based tourism training.
