Pelatihan Penggunaan Teknologi Untuk Pengajaran Berbicara Dalam Bahasa Inggris Bagi Para Guru Sekolah Penabur

Abstract

Artificial intelligence technology has become an essential part of the English language teaching and learning process. This community service program (PkM) aims to provide training in the use of various simple artificial intelligence tools to teach English-speaking skills. The PkM activity was conducted offline on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 11:00 to 11:50 a.m. Western Indonesian Time held at Satya Wacana Christian University. The participants in this training were 26 English teachers from schools under the management of BPK Penabur in the Jabodetabek area, including Jakarta–Bogor–Depok–Tangerang–Bekasi. During the material presentation session, participants were introduced to and invited to try out various technology tools they could use to support English-speaking teaching activities. Those tools include Gliglish (which can act as a conversation partner for students), Famouspeoplelessons (which can provide a variety of learning materials related to world-famous figures), Wordsift (which can display a list of words that appear most frequently in a reading text), and Google Translate (which can be used to practice pronouncing words in English). The training session concluded with participants reflecting on the PkM activities they had joined, and the majority found the training very beneficial.
