Human resources is the backbone of office activities, therefore improving employee knowledge and skills needs to be done on an ongoing basis. This article is to report an upgrading activity conducted by STIKS Tarakanita for the administrative assistants and secretaries of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK – Financial Services Authority). The activity was conducted through direct practice methods with simulations of different situations to improve the skills of the participants. The focus in this training was on secretarial and effective management of records. They also received a refreshing program on how to handle telephone, the use of computer applications, and the table manners. This training was conducted as most of the participants did not have any secretarial educational background; thus they had difficulty in handling files and telehone. The participants claimed that they enjoyed and got benefits from the training; they were more skilful and confident. They were happy with the new knowledge of mass mailing and table manners and effective record management.
